my friend Sam Kee with the “Hope Stands” ministry, talking about how God cares so deeply for us and desires that we would have life and life to the fullest

the word “resurrection” literally means “to stand up.” This has vast and profound implications for us. The resurrection means that someone is always standing up for us, no matter how bad life gets. One can never say that he is without hope, so long as one person is standing up for him.

Jesus “stands up” in the middle of Mary’s sorrow.

Jesus “stands up” in the middle of the disciple’s fear

Jesus “stands up” in the middle of Thomas’ doubt.

Jesus “stands up” in the middle of the disciple’s failure.

"Don’t get your hopes up" is a phrase that is crippling the church. We have a living hope in Jesus,
1 Pet 1:3. Get your hopes up!

The word ‘resurrection’ means “to stand up”

when you were trapped in sorrow, fear, doubt, and failure.. Jesus stood up for you.

and just as a field is never without hope, so long as one living blade of grass remains, so too, you are never without hope, because there is one who stands up for you!

He’s alive, and in Him, we have everlasting life!

to the person who is hurting inside, right now..

you are loved.. more than you can possibly imagine.
there is hope.

do not allow the pain to imprison you any longer..
do not let the walls of your past and your regrets bind you.

I pray that God would set you free.

God wants you to be free from your insecurity, free from your regrets and your baggage, free from the scars that open up over and over again.. Free from all the lies that tell you that you have no worth.. Free from all the bondage, hurt, brokenness, and sorrow in your world.

God knows your pain, and He longs with all His heart for you to be free.
and I believe that right now.. God is weeping.. He is crying out for those who are enslaved by darkness.. and if they can hear His voice as He cries out to them, then they will be set free.

God loves you more than you can possibly imagine.

may God help us to let these things go, to give them to Him.. to give Him all our scars, our baggage, these things that trap us and enslave us… and may he cleanse us from our past, from the stuff that has happened so many times that the wounds seem like they might never heal.

may God give you the realization that you are forgiven.. may He set you free from bondage… and may He help you forgive those who have wronged you… and may He help us find life beyond the prisons of our past.

Amen

I’ve read the last page of the Bible. It’s all going to turn out all right.
Billy Graham

It’s like in the great stories, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end it’s only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines it’ll shine out the clearer.

Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, I do understand.. I know now folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something.

That there’s some good in the world, and it’s worth fighting for.
